Just made yet another batch. We no longer buy pickles. My brother's family has also adopted this recipe. It lends so well to "variations on the theme". We use different vinegars (my fav being seasoned rice wine vinegar), sometimes we add onions (great on sandwiches), make pickled veggies like carrots and cauliflower and add various hot peppers. Sometimes pickling spices or dill or more sugar for a bread and butter effect. It's been endless and delicious.
